Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9/1/2026

Pinch-Hit LLC ("Pinch-Hit," "we," "us") runs pinch-hit.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

We've tried to write it in plain English. If something here isn't clear, email hello@pinch-hit.com and ask.

Who this covers

Three kinds of people use this site, and we handle their information differently:

  • Visitors who just read the site

  • Companies who contact us about hiring help

  • Job seekers who join our talent network

What we collect

If you're just visiting. Standard web analytics — pages viewed, how long you stayed, roughly where you are, what browser and device you used, and how you found us. This is collected through cookies and similar technology. It's aggregate and we don't use it to identify you.

If you contact us about hiring. Your name, work email, company, and whatever you write in the message. Plus anything you share with us afterward by email or on a call.

If you join our talent network. Your name, email, what you do, where you are, and whatever else you choose to tell us. If you later send a resume or work samples, we hold those too. We may also add notes from our conversations with you.

What we don't collect. We don't ask for Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or financial information through this website. If those are ever needed for a specific hiring process, they'd be collected separately by the employer, with your knowledge.

How we use it

Site analytics tell us which pages people read, so we can write better ones.

Employer inquiries are used to respond to you and, if we work together, to deliver the engagement.

Talent network information is used to figure out whether you fit roles we're working on, and to contact you when you do. We also use it to keep track of conversations we've had, so we don't ask you the same questions twice.

We don't sell your information. To anyone. Ever.

When we share it

Your resume and candidate information. We will not send your resume, your name, or your information to any employer without asking you first and getting your okay for that specific role. That's not a policy we're describing — it's a commitment. If you'd rather we didn't hold your information at all, tell us and we'll delete it.

Clients we work with. When we run a search for a company, we share information about candidates who have agreed to be put forward for that role. Nothing else.

Service providers. We use third-party tools to run the site, send email, and store files — things like website hosting, email platforms, scheduling tools, and cloud storage. They can access information only as needed to provide their service.

Legal requirements. If we're legally required to disclose something — a court order, a subpoena — we will, and we'll tell you unless we're prohibited from doing so.

A sale of the business. If Pinch-Hit is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that. You'd be notified.

Cookies

We use cookies for basic site function and analytics. You can turn them off in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as well.

How long we keep things

Analytics: Up to 26 months.

Employer inquiries: As long as we're in contact, and for two years afterward.

Talent network information: As long as it's useful to you and to us. We'll check in periodically. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it — see below.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you

  • Correct anything that's wrong

  • Delete it entirely

  • Stop emailing you

Email hello@pinch-hit.com and we'll take care of it within 30 days. We won't ask you why.

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. It works.

If you're in California, you have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information — access controls, encrypted storage, and vendors who do the same. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. If there's ever a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you as required by law.

Equal opportunity

We don't collect information about race, religion, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status for the purpose of screening candidates, and we don't use it in hiring recommendations. We don't work with clients who ask us to.

Children

This site isn't for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes get an email to anyone in our talent network.
